Comic "Bats!" by Lindsay Hornsby

Panel 1: It’s evening on a clear night with a crescent moon. TeaCup Pup, a small peachy colored teacup chihuahua puppy with a purple-red beaded collar and a gold and purple crown, gazes up at the night sky wagging her tail. She’s sitting near a bush and tree by herself.

Panel 2: A small brownish-purple hoary bat has flown toward TeaCup Pup. The bat is excited as it spots TeaCup Pups pointy ears: they look just like bat ears! The bat thinks TeaCup Pup is a fellow bat! TeaCup Pup turns to look toward the bat, confused.

Panel 3: The brownish bat has landed on the ground and is hugging TeaCup Pup happily with lil’ hearts, snuggling up to her. TeaCup Pup turns in the other direction to see a new bat, a bluish-purple greater spear-nosed bat, is now flying down to her. The new bat ALSO thinks TeaCup Pup is a fellow bat!

Panel 4: A puzzled TeaCup Pup is deep in thought as the two happy bats give her big hugs and snuggles, wee hearts floating above them.

Panel 5: Interior of the Princess Pups castle near the entryway of a room. Fluff Pup, a brown puppy with long fluffy ears, has entered the room. She is very confused and aghast, looking up towards a brown floating shelf on the wall of the room. Hanging upside-down from the shelf are the two bats, happily wrapped in their wings snoozing. Nestled between them is TeaCup Pup, also hanging upside down with the help of a blanket wrap and a heavy book on the shelf. She’s set her crown on a nice pillow below her so it doesn’t fall on anyone. TeaCup Pup looks very content as she snoozes between her new bat friends.

Bats!

Teacup Pup seems to have been mistaken for.....a bat?! But she made some new friends in the process, so it works out pretty well!

Bats have very interesting faces, head shapes, and ears that oftentimes match up with Teacup Pup's ears. :)  The bats I used for reference for this comic are the hoary bat and the greater spear-nosed fruit bat, both of which are exceptionally cute!
