Comic Panel 1: Inside the Princess Pups castle, Fluff Pup and TeaCup Pup are wearing safety goggles and lab coats. Fluff Pup is in the middle of carefully adding one liquid to another in science lab beakers. TeaCup Pup is using her magic wand to keep a Science-Ish book floating up where Fluff Pup can read it Comic Panel 2: Closer image of Fluff Pup and TeaCup Pup; they’ve moved their science stuff onto a countertop. The glass beaker of liquid has some purple colored swirls coming out of it and floating above it. It's bubbling a lot! Fluff Pup is concentrating as she writes notes on a clipboard. TeaCup Pup sits on the other side with a pencil and open book, watching the liquid closely. Comic Panel 3: The swirl cloud disappears and the large bubbles stop, as the liquid settles itself into a lime green color. Fluff Pup and TeaCup Pup celebrate and have a word balloon showing a strong checkmark and happy faces to showcase that their science was a success! Right behind TeaCup Pup, Scruffy Pup is peeping her head up on the table with her tongue flopping out. She looks at the liquid with a soda can and a question-mark image above her head.

Comic Panel 4: Scruffy Pup has swooped up between Fluff Pup and TeaCup Pup to quickly grab the science liquid and starts to drink it! She has a word balloon with a soda can and heart above her head as she’s convinced this is soda! Fluff Pup cringes and looks startled as TeaCup Pup furiously waves her arms back and forth with an exclamatory word balloon with a crossed out image of a soda can, trying to warn her friend it’s NOT soda!

Comic Panel 5: A large, blocky BOOF! Sound effect takes up much of the space as the same purple swirls from earlier in the comic descend around Scruffy Pup. She now has a frog head, but still has her fluffy-floppy dog ears. Her tongue sticks out of her frog mouth with a bit of the green liquid on it and she has a puzzled look on her now-frog face.

Science (Not Soda): Part One

The pups get into Science Stuff, but probably should have told Scruffy Pup what they were doing before she jumped to her own conclusions!...

Campfire Snack Coloring!

I’ve been impossibly busy this past month, mostly because I spent half of May preparing for, going to, and recovering from, Comics Camp! My trip was delightful and a great inspiration for sending the Princess Pups out into the woods for a fun coloring page. All five pups are gathered around for campfire snack time for your coloring delight! Each pup seems to have different levels of success with makin’ the s’mores though. Don’t worry, I’m sure Corgi Pup will get her marshmallow to stop being on fire!

A Princess Pups coloring page illustration by Lindsay Hornsby. All five pups are gathered around a roaring campfire in the woods. Fluff Pup is stacking a fresh s'more in the foreground. Corgi Pup is frantically trying to wave out the fire on her marshmallow as TeaCup Pup and Pug Pup successfully and happily roast their own marshmallows. Scruffy Pup has ripped her marshmallow in half with a lump in her paws and a lump sticking out of her mouth as she eats it. The background features tall trees and a large mountain range with a full moon in the sky.
Really, the pups just went camping so they could roast s’mores. I’m sure they hiked too though!

I did a rough sketch in my sketchbook for my overall layout of this coloring page, which you can see below. Since I’d doodled Fluff Pup in blue-line pencil and had the settings up high, she’s not visible in the scanned sketch. I had to add her rough sketch in digitally during the layout part of the work.

A rough scan from a physical sketch of the Princess Pups around a campfire. It's the initial drawing that lead to the final coloring page nearby.

In this month’s timelapse, you might spot where I dropped in my initial sketchbook scan right at the start! I had a lot of fun giving the pups different camping gear. I might have gotten extra absorbed in drawing piles of the woods behind them too!

Frequent readers might notice there’s just one coloring page this month. I’m adjusting my goals to one coloring page a month instead of two. I’m intending to dedicate more of that time to the comic and for a coloring page that can have a bit more detail. Based on the “Work Time” Clip Studio records for me though, I might have gone a bit longer on this on than I planned. Whoops! It’s probably because I kept staring at the wonderful reference photos I took of the Alaska rainforest where I spent time during comics camp. You can read more about my time at Comics Camp on my Substack.

Don’t worry if you need stuff to color though, because there’s still a metric TON of Princess Pups coloring pages over in the Coloring Pages section of the site!

Breakfast Party Coloring Pages!

I love breakfast! Including breakfast at dinner, known to some as “brinner!” The Princess Pups love it too, especially stackable breakfast like pancakes and waffles. I had so much fun drawing the pups having a pancake party comic that I decided to do a breakfast party themed set of coloring pages for this month!

The first coloring page features Corgi Pup and Pug Pup stacking their pile of pancakes with lots of toppings! There’s tons of toppings to color here: strawberries, blueberries, chocolate chips, whipped cream, cherries…and of course, syrup! It’s surprising that Pug Pup hasn’t managed to splatter the syrup about while pouring it on the stack of pancakes near Corgi Pup’s paw. (It might still happen, honestly)

A coloring page of Corgi Pup and Pug Pup in a close up view at a table filled with toppings for pancake breakfast. A smiling Pug Pup is holding a syrup bottle high above her head as she pours syrup onto a stack of pancakes. Corgi Pup, licking her lips and smiling, is adding a strawberry to the sam stack. Nearby the toppings is an already piled-high stack of pancakes with whipped cream, syrup, a cherry and blueberries.
Pug Pup and Corgi Pup have SO MANY TOPPINGS to choose from for pancakes!

In this month’s second coloring page, the rest of the pups are preparing waffles. (Don’t worry, they’re not just square pancakes!) TeaCup Pup is gracefully using her magic wand to lift freshly-made waffles up into the air onto Fluff Pup’s awaiting plate. However, it looks like Scruffy Pup has skipped over using a plate and is content to lean on the cupboard chewin’ on a waffle by itself!

A coloring page of several Princess Pups having a waffle breakfast! TeaCup Pup sits on a kitchen counter next to a waffle maker with a big grin. She uses her magic wand to float fresh waffles from the waffle maker to a plate held by a hungry Fluff Pup who's sitting on a nearby tall stool. On the floor below TeaCup Pup, Scruffy Pup is chewing on a waffle she holds eagerly in both paws.
Really, Scruffy Pup is right, the plate just gets in the way.

For this month’s timelapse video, you can see waffles go from sketch to float! Hopefully you don’t spot when I slightly obsessed over if the waffles should have three or four square indents in them per row…Remember that you can find these and other coloring pages on the Coloring Pages section of the site!

Rainy Day Coloring Pages!

The weather here in St. Louis is notorious for flipping about: a few days ago it was nice and sunny in the high 80’s! The next day, I needed my raincoat for the murky and cloudy 50 degrees that snuck in. But you’re in luck: rainy days for Princess Pups means cute puppy rain coats and puppies in boots to color!

A screenshot from Clip Studio Pro of several sketchbook drawings and one digital sketch. Two sketches focus on Princess Pups in the rain with the Commando Cats, offering one cat an umbrella and giving the other a big hug! One sketch has a confused Corgi Pup with a rainboot stuck to her booty instead of on her feet as her pals Fluff Pup and TeaCup Pup play in puddles in their rain gear.
These coloring pages started as fun doodles in my sketchbook that I ported over into Clip Studio!

In this month’s first coloring page, Scruffy Pup shares her umbrella with an un-coated Commando Cat, who wandered off without any rainy day gear! What a pal! It seems that Pug Pup is much too busy hugging the other Commando Cat to shift the umbrella over to cover him…he’s just too cuddly!

A coloring page set outside on a rainy day. In the foreground, Scruffy Pup, dressed in a raincoat, happily shares an umbrella with the fluffy Commando Cat, who's looks sheepishly grateful. A bug-eyed frog sits in a puddle nearby them. In the background, Pug Pup, also in her raincoat, is busy hugging the taller Commando Cat. Pug Pup's umbrella is shifted behind her so unfortunately the grumpy cat is not shielded from the rainy.
Maybe the Commando Cats should have packed their rain coats?

This month’s second rainy day themed coloring page has Fluff Pup, TeaCup Pup, and Corgi Pup exploring rain puddles in their rain boots! While Fluff Pup and TeaCup pup happily tap their boots into puddles, Corgi Pup finds herself in a weird situation…Somehow, she doesn’t have any boots at all, except for one very large one stuck to her booty?!

A coloring page three of the Princess Pups outside on a rainy day. All three are wearing their raincoats. Fluff Pup carefully splashes a puddle with a front-booted foot with a slight smile. TeaCup Pup happily splashes a different puddle with her front foot. Corgi Pup has no boots on her feet and stares behind her in confusion and annoyed disbelief at the giant boot stuck to her booty.
That boot stuck to Corgi Pup doesn’t even fit any of the pups, where did it come from?!

This month’s timelapse is the Pups and Commando Cats scene! I did some adjustments from my original sketches using the Clip Studio Pro perspective rulers (which conveniently don’t appear in the video) to adjust the umbrella shapes. You might also spot how the frog was a sudden addition! Remember you can find these and other coloring pages on the Coloring Page section of the site!

Valentine Craft Coloring!

Valentine’s Day is fully of hearts and chocolates but also: crafts! Or, as we say in our house: “craaaafts! I want to do craaaaafts!” This month’s coloring pages has all the Princess Pups participating in pretty popular Valentine themed crafts!

First up we have Scruffy Pup, TeaCup Pup, and Fluff Pup making heart-filled garlands to hang! There’s lots of patterns on the hearts to color in all sorts of ways, but I’m not sure that the string will be able to hang on the wall with TeaCup Pup swinging from it….

A coloring sheet featuring three of the Princess Pups. They're crafting Valentine's Day themed garlands to hang. TeaCup Pup, the smallest puppy, swings on one of the garlands between Scruffy Pup and Fluff Pup as they prepare to hang it. They're all happy pups!
So many hanging hearts!

In this month’s second coloring page, I’ve got Corgi Pup and Pug Pup crafting Valentine’s cards! While Corgi Pup has been focused on her card, it seems that Pug Pup has gone a bit overboard in the size of the card she made. (Don’t worry, it’s made of light-weight card stock paper, so it won’t hurt if it topples onto them!)

A coloring sheet of two of the Princess Pups doing Valentine Card crafts, Corgi Pup and Pug Pup. Corgi Pup has her eyes shifted to the right to look behind her at a giant, looming Valentine heart card that Pug Pup has made (and is very proud of). The floor around them is littered with crafting supplies like a jar of pom-poms, glue, paper and stickers. These also cover the giant heart card!
Pug Pup is so proud of her massive Valentine card!

The pups have had a few Valentine adventures in the past. I’ve even made some swell printable cards based on a comic. You can download these printable Princess Pups Valentines below!

This month’s timelapse video is a glimpse at the garland Valentine craft! It was fun doing different lil’ patterns to go into the hanging hearts, so I hope it adds lots of variety to your coloring! You’ll find this month’s coloring pages plus a ton more (including past Valentine ones!) over here in the Coloring Pages!
