Pug Pup is convinced that a frog can reach all sorts of things by shooting out its tongue! It's too bad froggy is only really focused on reaching bugs. I've drawn Pug Pup interacting with frogs in coloring pages twice now and wanted to have her meeting a frog in a comic!
September is my birthday month! Which means it was time to do a coloring page with all of the Princess Pups snacking on a SUPER GIANT BIRTHDAY CAKE:
My birthday was super relaxing and also involved a cake, although it wasn’t as tall as the one I drew for the pups. I got some super cute handmade ceramics for my birthday from Binx Ceramics that are delightful: Halloween, a dino, and animals in Christmas sweaters, I love them all <3
The Halloween ones are currently residing in our Spooky Town decorations that we setup for the year. The Pups will need to have some Halloween coloring adventures next time!
There are new coloring pages available for you to save and color! But how do they get made? Here’s a quick sketch comparison blog post, just for you!
First, up is Teacup Pup and Pug Pup hanging out:
This color page actually came about from a doodle session in my physical sketchbook. The comic is drawn digitally, but I find that I can brainstorm and sketch best on a sketchbook with a pencil in my hand. You might spot another currently available coloring page in sketch form on the page as well!
Meanwhile, the other new coloring page idea actually showed up digitally when I was working on the Symphony comic. Scruffy Pup uses a sousaphone, which are a bit tricky to draw. So I sketched it out in my digital comic file to use as a reference.
Scruffy Pup just looked so proud with that sousaphone, it made sense to copy over that reference sketch to make a coloring page of it!
So far, the sousaphone drawing is the only one to crop up unexpectedly asking to become a coloring page. But maybe I’ll have more of these surprise coloring page ideas in the future.
New coloring pages are available! First off is a page inspired by the Morning Routine comic! Although Fluff Pup and Scruffy Pup were the only pups taking a bath last time, this illustration has all the pups taking part in bubble tub fun times! Somehow, Pug Pup still has snacks nearby even though she’s all sudsy?!
The other new coloring page features the Cowpoke Pups from the Go West?! storyline! These pups are enjoying a nice campfire under the stars. I originally did this coloring page for an anthology a few years ago, and this is the first time it’s available on the internet! Neato!
It’s time for another set of coloring pages! First this month, there’s a page inspired by the Book Balance comic. Scruffy Pup shows off her snack balancing skills as Teacup Pup and Fluff Pup try to keep those books from tumbling down!
Next up is a coloring friendly version of the “Princess Pups In Spaaace!” cover. This cover is from one of my favorite Princess Pups storylines and it’s still one of my favorite cover illustrations. The pups are floating everywhere and space can be whatever color you want it to be!
If you haven’t printed any of the other coloring pages yet, you can find the entire collection over on the Coloring Pages section of the site!
